Raymond "Scott" Manley defends PhD

Scott Manley passed his viva voce PhD exam this morning. The examiners, Dr Jeremy Singer of the University of Glasgow, and Dr John Waldron of TCD, recommended the PhD be awarded subject to minor corrections. Scott’s dissertaion is entitled “Program Generation for Intel AES New Instructions”, and deals with generating optimized cryptography code using the special-purpose AES instructions found in recent Intel processors.
